Omis is located 25 km south from Split and 38 km north of Makarska. Riviera of Omis includes 30 km of coastline with famous tourist places which are visited by many tourists. These are the towns of Omis, Dugi rat, Krilo Jesenice, Duce, Pisak, Ruskamen, Stanici, Lokva Rogoznica, Mimice, Medici and Marusici. The nature is very diverse on this area. Cetina River flows into the sea in Omis, so there are many sandy beaches , beside those gravel and stone ones. Cetina offers rapids very near Omis, where many fans enjoy in rafting, and there are many restaurants along the river where you can taste a variety of specialties, seafood and river fish. Omis City is a city rich in history and was first mentioned in the 10th century. People of Omis were famous pirates who attacked ships of powerful cities and states. Venice, Dubrovnik, Split, and others had to pay tribute for their safe navigation. Various rich monuments were left from its rich history all around the town. Omis city is today a modern tourist town with all necessary facilities.
